Christian Warlich (1891-1964) was a popular Hamburg, Germany tattooist in the 1940s. He was often billed as the “King of Tattooists” and in his 44 Kielerstr shop in St Pauli, he boasted of tattooing over 40,000 men and women, many of them sailors. This two page article from the 1940s features numerous photographs of Warlich, and also provides a look at his unusual methods for tattoo removal.
