Carol Nightingale (1930–2011) was a Canadian tattoo artist who opened a tattoo shop in Washington, D.C., in the 1960s. This original article from The Evening Star, dated Wednesday, May 31, 1967, tells a little about Nightingale and his work during that era.
In 1979, Nightingale received a U.S. patent for an Electrical Marking Device that he called "The Right Hand of America." It was an ambitious design, but the machine was never put into production or offered for sale.
