Joe Graham, an English tattooist, was billed as “The North East’s First Registered Tattoo Artist”. He was located in the port town of Sunderland. In the 1980s Bob MacHahan, aka Grandpa Groovy, who published the newsletter Tattoo Life put out a call for cover artwork. In 1981 Joe Graham responded with this. According to note on the back it was used as a cover for the newsletter.
