Tommy Ray was a tattooed vaudeville performer who dressed as a fireman and sang popular songs in what many claimed at the time to be a very good tenor voice. Ray's claim to fame was that he worked in the fire room on the RMS Lusitania and survived the German U-Boat attack that sunk the Lusitania in 1915.
