Al Neville was best known for his years of tattooing on the Bowery in New York City. This flash sheet reproduction is from that era. Neville was befriended by Norman Rockwell in the 1940s and loaned Rockwell a tattoo machine that Rockwell included in his famous painting, "the Tattooist" that was used for a Saturday Evening Post cover on March 4, 1944.
