Sgt. Howard Brodie was born in Oakland, California. He attended the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco and was sport artist for the San Francisco Chronicle. During World War II he enlisted in the Army and sketched everything from Guadalcanal to the Battle of the Bulge. After the war he became a courtroom artist. This issue of Yank Magazine features Brodie’s work on the cover and many more sketches inside.
