Moses Childress was a Lodi California tattooist who made the move to San Francisco in the 1980s and started working with Henry Goldfield on Broadway. Henry was ex-Navy and operated the fleet tattoo shop in San Francisco. After a day cruise with the tattooists from Henry’s shop, Moses became Sailor Moses. He used that needle name for the rest of his tattoo career.
