In a 2001 interview Cliff said, “I went to Indiana University and studied art. I did a little bit of commercial art, art studio kind of work, freelance art, etc. I wanted to learn tattooing.” Thank goodness Phil Sparrow took him under his wing and Cliff learned tattooing. Here we have a rare Raven piece of cartooning from 1972 giving a bit of tattoo history.
