Almost five years before D.E. Hardy printed the three landmark Sailor Jerry Flash books, Mike Malone was offering high quality laser-color printed Sailor Jerry flash. It was 1991 and Malone was still holding court in Jerry’s old shop at 1033 Smith Street in Honolulu. Malone was expanding his flash business and at that time had 12 different sets of flash by the likes of Lance McClain, Miss Roxy and Ed Hardy. Most, if not all of these were black and white sheets, but Malone was branching out with the laser colored sheets that came with line drawings for stencil making.
